MOGADISHU (Sh.M.Network) — The president of Somali Federal Republic, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud said the fighting against Al shabab militants will continue until they are totally dislodged from the entire country.

In his speech at a parliament session on Tuesday, where the lawmakers have unanimously endorsed the new PM, the president showed his appreciation to the progressing military gains against the Al Qaeda-affiliated Al shabab fighters in south and central of the country.

“Since I took office and the helm, Somali and African Union (AU) forces have secured many key rebel-held towns, mainly the southern port city ofKismayo, where to government officials and MPs have visited early. That move made us all proud” the president claimed.

“Now, that’s something to be proud about” he added.

Due to the sacrifices of Kenyan defence forces (KDF) and African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM), Al Shabaab is now on its toes andSomaliais on the threshold of a new dawn. The war hasn’t been won yet but peace is definitely beckoning inSomalia.
