MERCA (Sh. M. Network)— At least two people reported killed and one other injured after a bomb exploded at a cinema in the port city of Merca, the first attack since Somali and AU forces moved in the town on Monday, Witnesses said.
Ahmed Omar Mohamed, a security official, told Shabelle Media that the first blast went off near a cinema, killing a nearby salesperson, wounding one other.
The second bomb burst out at the entrance of a police army in the heart of Merca on Tuesday evening. One person was confirmed dead that attack, according to witnesses.
The blasts happened at around 06.30 pm local time and somali forces quickly sealed the area and began conducting operations over the attacks. No arrests were reported.
No group has said it carried out the attacks
