Three day workshop opens at Shabelle Media Network HQ

MOGADISHU(Sh. M. Network)- A Three day workshop indented to promote human rights, democracy and good governance through Media started on Friday at Shabelle Media Network headquarters in Mogadishu.

The workshop which will continue from today,Friday 31st August to 2nd September is funded by National Endowment for Democracy (NED) and implemented by Shabelle Media Network is held for 20 correspondents,15 of them working for Shabelle Media Network and 5 local freelance journalists in Mogadishu.

Hon. Abdimalik Yusuf Mohamoud, the chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of Shabelle Media Network (SMN), said the intensive course is meant to enhance and upgrade the career and skills of the independent Somali journalists working in Somalia’s capital,Mogadishu.

Objectives

1-To develop Human rights

2-To boost the Democracy

3-To make Good governance

The participating journalists have warmly welcomed the capacity building program and said they will get more advantages about Human rights, the Democracy and good governance.
