MOGADISHU (Sh.M.Network) — The body of young Somali boy has been found dead in an area of Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu and residents said Wednesday they suspect the Islamist militant group Al-Shabab killed the man.
Friends say the man whose age is said at 23-years old has been missing for the last five days and was found lying in Suqa-Holaha village, north of Mogadishu, one of the former main rebel-held areas in the capital.
The Al-Qaida-linked Al shabab militants consider any Somali who works closely for the UN-backed Somali government and the African Union forces as apostates.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the killing.
Islamic insurgents control much of south and central regions of Somalia and have been trying to topple the fragile government for three years. Somalia has not had an effective central government for more than 20-years.
