MOGADISHU (Sh.M.Network)—Somali National Army (SNA) have made manhunt and arrested three government soldiers accused of raping two teenage girls in Mogadishu in the past, officials said on Saturday.
Speaking with Shabelle Media, Omar Abdulle Jafan, the district commissioner of Huriwa said the alleged soldiers were captured during an operation carried out in Suqa-holaha neighbourhood and remained in custody for questioning.
“This is an introduction for the forthcoming measures against those in the army who commit such acts against civilians in the district,” he said.
Mogadishu, Somali capital has witnessed crimes against humanity, including rape, robbery and senseless killings due to the lack of central government for more than 20 years. Now the city enjoys building and security boom.
