Muqdisho (Sh.M.Network)— Somalia’s Prime minister Abdi Farah Shirdon ‘’Saa’id’’ has surprised a large number of ordinary citizens at a café in Mogadishu after he unexpectedly turned up at the café, sat with them and started to having chat with them answering all questions about their concerns and questions about his government’s plans to secure the whole country.
Prime Minister Saa’id became the first sitting Prime minister who came to such close to ordinary citizens having tea at a café inMogadishu.
Residents in Mogadishu gather at tea cafés in the city to discuss and exchange ideas from individual to national issues and cafés in the capital city are very popular with residents who are so much interested in both social and political issues.
Mr. Sa’’id shook hand with all those at the café and asked them about their daily lives and he let them ask him any question they may need to find its answer from his government.
Most of the questions posed to the prime minister by the people at the café were over security, the illegal check points which were recently dismantled in the city and how the government would spread its authority to the rest of the country.
The prime minister has answered all questions posed to him by the astonished citizens and one of them could not hide his mixed feeling of joy and surprise.
‘’ I am speechless. This is the kind of leadership we need, a leadership that socializes with us, asks us our concerns and answers our questions. Mr. Prime minister, your visit to us at this café shows us that you are a servant of the people and the nation so thank you so much indeed’’ said one of the people who were drinking tea at the café where Prime minister Saa’id visited yesterday unexpectedly.
Prime Minister Saa’id said that all the current leadership are always at the service of the people and will do their best to salvage and unite the nation. He went on to say that the first ones who suffer from the problems of the country are ordinary citizens.
“It is not always the government that is targeted with menace but it is the people, the civilains that suffer most so that the people should give full support to the government so we can win over those small who are the spoilers, the anarchists who hide within the population to commit their evil’’ said Saa’id.
Prime minister Saa’d said promised to the people he met at the café that his government will protect its citizens and he stressed that people in the capital have widely welcomed the removal of illegal check points in the capital city and the public transport now shuttle without hurdles on the streets in the city.
Finally , prime minister Saa’id who accompanied his interior and internal security minister Abdi karin Hussein Guled, deputy commander of the Somali army and commander of the Somali national police and commander of Benedir secret police have toured the two main entry ways to Mogadishu which are among parts of cleared of illegal check points.
The prime minister toured by foot from Daromooley to Maslah camp which is about 1 kilo meter in between and he commended the Somali security forces how they secured Mogadishu.
