Somali parliament sends proposed budget back to Government

Mogadishu 27 dec -12 (Shabelle) — Somali law makers were unsatisfied with a budget proposed by the Somali federal government and voted to return it back to the government so it could amend it in details.

The law makers held a session yesterday at the parliament building with the presence of the finance minister whose portfolio prepared the budget of 2013.

There were 164 MPs present at the session and after the speaker asked voting for the budget, seventy law makers voted against it, fifty voted yes while the rest abstained from it.

After the voting concluded, speaker of the parliament, Mohamed Osman Jawari has told the finance minister that the government has 30 days to amend and bring the budget back to the parliament so it can approved.
