Somali Parliament endorses Abdi Farah Shirdon as new PM

MOGADISHU(Sh.M.Network) —Somalia’s Federal Republic of parliament has unanimously endorsed Abdi Farah Shirdon as the Prime Minister of Somalia during a session in Mogadishu on Wednesday.

Somali president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and speaker Jawari were at the meeting as 215 parliamentarians, out of the 275 member parliament gave Mr. Abdi Farah Shirdon the vote of confidence.

While addressing at the session, the new PM has promised to form an accountable and effective government as soon as possible, to restore the law and order in the country that has mired more 20 years of violence.
