MOGADISHU (Sh.M.Network)—After unknown gunmen have tried on Sunday evening to murder Mohamed Mohamud Turyare, a journalist working for the independent Shabelle Media Network based in Mogadishu, condemnations have been on the rise.
Mr. Mohamud’s assassinations bid drew local and international condemnations, Omar Mohamud, a lawmaker in federal parliament has criticized in the strongest terms possible the attack on the journalist.
The PM called to bring those responsible for the shooting to justice as soon as possible. He urged Somali journalists working inside the country, especially the capital, Mogadishu to be more vigilant any time and every where they are in the city.
On the other hand, the health condition of the wounded journalist is getting well, and can communicate with the people visiting him at the hospital, after doctors have worked vigorously to stop bleeding and remove bullets from his abdominal.
Somalia is ranked to be the most dangerous country in the world for the journalists, with 15 journalists have been killed since the start of this year 2012.
