Somali finance minister: ’’It needs a lot of money to fight with Al Shabab’’

Mogadishu 25 dec -12 (Shabelle )— Somali’as finance minister Mohamed Hassan Suleyman, who addressed a session of the parliament yesterday, told that the government needs money allocated in the operations against Al Shabab including money to finance the restoration of law and order in the areas liberated from Al Shabab.

The minister said that budget, which the government has prepared, gives priority the logistics and training of the Somali national so their operations against Al Shabab becomes effective.

Mr. Guled also talked about a lot of money is spent on the Somali diplomatic missions in the world, pointing out that the number of Somali embassies and consulates stand 49 now.

The finance minster mentioned that some of the Somali embassies in the world need to be renovated and some are already under renovation and the proposed budget has money for those renovations.

The proposed budget from the Somali government is now presented to the Somali parliament and Somali law makers began to debate it yesterday though their session was suspended after it had been marred by a brawl stemming from parts of the budget.
