MOGADISHU(Sh.M.Network)— A roadside bomb hidden under the ground killed four people and wounded 10 others in the Somali capital on Tuesday, police and witnesses said.
In Tuesday’s attack, targeting government soldiers patrolling Yaqshid district, the northern part ofMogadishu, known to be a former stronghold of insurgents, struck a nearby minibus carrying civilian, said a witness.
“We ran away (from the scene) fearing that we would be arrested as suspects,” Said another witness who asked not to be named because of his security.
Mogadishuhas seen little peace since government troops backed by African Union mission in Somalia (AMISOM) forces drove Al Qaeda-linked Al shabab out of the city in August, last year.
The explosion follows a day after Somali parliament elected Hassan Sheikh Mohamud as a new president, the firs vote in its kind to be held inMogadishufor more than 42 years.
