WANLAWEYNE (Sh.M.Network) — At least two people were confirmed dead and seven others sustained variety of wounds in a fatal road accident occurred Saturday in southern Somalia, reports said.
Local residents and witnesses told Shabelle, a local radio station based in Mogadishu, that the accident came after the car, carrying dozens of passengers en route to Bay region overturned in a village of Jiiro-kuuloow about 10 Km away from Buur-hakabo district.
The wounded people in the incident are reported to have taken to the hospitals in Buur-hakabo for treatment.
Car and truck accidents in Somalia are routine as it is attributed to broken and wrecked streets in the country and lack of skilled drivers for the past 20 years of conflict and disorder.
Somalia has had any functioning central government with the ability to repair the broken streets and resume other social welfare.
