GALKA’YO (Sh.M.Network) —Puntland forces have been conducting security operations in Galkayo, the capital of Mudug region, arresting dozons of suspected Al shabab members, reports said on Tuesday.
The operations according to Puntand security officer Muhaydin Ahmed Muse who spoke to Shabelle Media, the operations have been to secure the city of Galkayo and to force out Al shabab agents active in the city.
“The forces are conducting operations that will improve the security of Galkayo whether the insecurity is caused by Al shabab or other factors, our forces are committed to securing the city of Galkayo,” he added.
Puntland officials urged local resident to work closely with the security forces, to maintain peace and stability of Galka’yo town, some 750 Km north eastMogadishu.
