KISMAYO (Sh.M.Network) — After string of bombings rocked Kismayo, the former Al Shabaab stronghold on Tuesday, killing two civilians and injuring many more, the allied forces launched Thursday massive security operations to restore peace and stability of the city.
In the couple of days fear has been gripping and residents fleeing due to the lack of security and bombings in the Somalia’s southern port of Kismayo, just 500 Km south of Mogadishu.
Locals say the city of Kismayo is relatively calm after Tuesday’s bombings, but things have not yet returned to normal.
Somali government and Kenyan officials say they are committed to secure the city.
