KISMAYO (Sh.M.Network)— A heavy fighting in Somalia’s southern Lower Jubba region has left Sunday at least five people, including soldiers dead, reports said.

Local sources said there has been heavy fighting in the province in recent days between al-Shabab and government troops backing by the Kenyan army.

On Sunday, five people, mostly combatants were killed in the main road which links Kismayo to Afmadow city after al-Shabab fighters ambushed a military convoy carrying Somali and Kenyan forces.
