BELEDWEYNE (Sh. M. Network)-Unidentified assailants have thrown a hand grenade on Somali army base in Somalia’s central town of Beledweyne, the capital city of Hiiraan region, reports.
The attacks took place in the early hours on Saturday at army base located east of the town, where dozens of TFG forces are locating, and causing unconfirmed casualties on the troops.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Beledweyne, a key town located just some 206 miles (332 km) north of Mogadishu fell to Somali and Ethiopian forces On December 31, 2011, after Al shabab fighters vacated from the city without a single shot.
