MOGADISHU(Sh.M.Network)—Unknown gunmen have shot to death a man in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu, the latest in series of killings against soldiers, government officials and local civilians since the country inaugurated a new president.
Eyewitnesses said the man, whose identity is yet to be established was shot in the head and chest by unidentified assailants armed with pistols in Suuqa-weyn neighbourhood of Wadajir district at around 07:15 p.m. local time.
The victim died on the spot and the killers escaped immediately from the scene, before Somali security forces moved in the shooting area and carried out searches over the incident.
The grounds behind the killing and the identity of the perpetrators are yet uncertain.
