KISMAYO (Sh.M.Network)—Armed groups have gunned down a civilian in the port city of Kismayo controlled by Somali government backed by Kenyan defence forces (KDF) fighting for the African Union Mission in Somalia(AMISOM).

Witnesses told Shabelle Media Network that the civilian was shot dead overnight in the city by a group of unknown attackers armed with pistols who managed to escape from the scene after the murder.

The reason behind the killing is yet unclear. The murder is the latest in the series of killings in the city for the past three weeks.

Several explosions have rocked Somalia’s southern port city of Kismayo, south Somalia since Kenyan and Somali troops take control of what has been the last bastion of the rebel group al-Shabab.
