MOGADISHU(Sh.M.Network)—Unknown gunmen have shot and killed a government local official in Somali capital,Mogadishu on Wednesday night, the latest in series of killings in the city as the federal parliament approved a new Prime Minister.
According to the local residents three assailants armed with pistols have shot in the head and chest the Municipal official whose name was briefed only as Burus, a village chief underMogadishu’s Wadajir district administration.
“The assailants armed with pistols gunned down the man after Esha prayer, and then fled from the crime scene uncaught” a witness said.
The motive behind the murder is yet to be established by the local authorities. Many government forces have reached Nasteexo Village, the shooting area and made manhunt, but it is unclear if any one is detained over the incident.
No group has yet said it carried out the killing against the official.
