AFMADOW (Sh. M. Network) — Witnesses said Four alleged Al shabab dead bodies were discovered Thursday in the town of Afmadow, some 620 km south of the capital Mogadishu.
According to locals the at least two other militants who had suffered gunshot wounds were seen on Thursday morning, a day after Somali forces battled Al shabab in villages near Afmadow town.
“The local inhabitants were shocked and panic about the dead bodies Al shabab members who have been found out lying inside the town,” a witness said.
No statement about the bodies was immediately available from the officials of the Al Qaeda-linked Al shabab commanders.
Separately, it was reported that African Union (Kenyan forces) and Somali government troops captured Tuesday several villages near the port city of Kismayo, as Al-Shabab abandoned the town without fighting.
