MOGADISHU(Sh. M. Network)—Djibouti president Ismail Omar Gelle, has pledged inclusive support of his government to the fledgling neighboring war-torn Somalia that mirred by two decades of conflct.
President Ismail Omar Gelle, whose country has sent peacekeeping troops to Somalia, was among several head of states and representatives from the region and the world attended an inauguration ceremony for the newly elected president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, a political novice and social activist.
“My government will extend the new president of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud all the support he needs in performing his daunting task to improving the security of Horn of Africa nation,” he said during his remarks at the inauguration ceremony in Mogadishu on Sunday.
The take over power ceremony followed four days after Somalia’s new president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud survived narrowly from an assassination attempt on his life at hotel in Mogadishu, before he moved to the presidential compound.
