Authorities in central Somalia to incorporate local militias to the Somali army

Beledweyne (Sh.M.Network) — Authorities in the central Somali region of Hiiraan are planning to train local militias and then integrate them into the Somali national army, according a top official in that region.

Speaking to Shabelle media network, Ahmed Abdalle Ismaan Inji, deputy security assisstant in the provincial authrity said that Djiboutian contingents who are of the African union forces in Somalia would train those miltias.

Amisom forces in Hiiraan region previously trained local miltias so they could join the national army.

Hiiraan is very strategic region in Somalia and it borders with Ethiopian and the region is a base for Djiboutian contingents who are part of the African union mission in Somalia.
