BURDUBO (Sh. M. Network)- Six alleged Al-Shabaab militant fighters on Thursday handed themselves into the Somali government forces in Buurdhuube town of Gedo region, according to TFG officials.
Ahmed Abdullahi Hirsi, the spokesman of Gedo administration for somalia’s Transitional Federal Government (TFG) told Shabelle Media by phone that the six militant fighters surrendered to the government soldiers in the town together with their weapons on Thursday.
Mr.Hirsi stated that the six will soon be moved to the town where there is a rehabilitation camp for defected militants.
He emphasized that the defectors decided to denounce their militancy and leave the group after they failed to continue fighting for Al shabab, which the official says its rule in Somalia shrinks.
